🍕BREAKING: Aid group feeds workers pizza. Man calls it a scandal. This was the early days of our work in Gaza, and Hamas had put out a threat against our local colleagues (12 of whom were brutally murdered by Hamas days later). These threats led some team members to stay overnight at our distribution sites. We scrambled to do everything we could to accommodate them: sleeping bags, port-a-potties, water, and yes, food was procured. It took a few days to get full catering in place, so our team picked up meals daily from vendors and grocery stores. On this particular day, the workers asked for something they hadn’t had in a long time: pizza. So we ordered @dominos in Be’er Sheva, drove it down to Kerem Shalom, and sent it in with a convoy. The former contractor calling this “abhorrent”? He emailed Domino’s corporate about the delivery and claimed he got free vouchers (though he never shared them with the team). We shared all of this with @MotherJones. They left it out. Why? Because facts don’t fit their agenda. 🔴 Deeply troubling: Two Israelis — an IDF soldier and a civilian — were detained in Belgium after an anti-Israel NGO accused them of war crimes. They were in the country as tourists attending the Tomorrowland music festival. Belgian authorities acted on the complaint under a new 2024 law that allows prosecution for international crimes, even with no direct connection to Belgium. This may be a foreshadowing of what’s to come — weaponized lawfare against Israelis abroad.
