#Oil got a big drop today after Trump posted about positive talks with Iran and a 5 day delay to any bombing of energy targets. However, Iran quickly denied any talks and it is hard to know what the truth is, but either way, this adds to the belief in the TACO trade. I posted several times last week that my base case was de-escalation because Trump and the Republicans can not afford high oil for long. I closed my short today on the drop and whilst I think it goes a lot lower in the coming weeks, I won't get greedy and 12% in a few days is good enough for me. The range to watch is $80 - $100 and anything in between is just noise IMO. If it does get back up to $100 I will short again. Medium term I think the combination of a US #stockmarket crash and the corresponding weak economy/recession, along with Trump's desire to win the mid terms, mean #USoil will drop to low 50s and probably 40s in the next 6 months. #Crude #Brent #WTI
