In Germany it’s ILLEGAL to homeschool your kids… Why? Because Hitler’s 1938 compulsory public school mandate, or Reichsschulpflichtgesetz, is still in effect to this day… Whenever you see people say “homeschooling should be illegal” show them this…

15/ TLDR: - Schulpflicht as old as 16th century to address inequalities - education decentralised until Nazis nationalized it (regardless of pre-existing Schulpflicht) - after WW2, Allies restored it decentralised - today's far-right wants to kill it to separate & indoctrinate
