In a striking parallel, Vice President Sara Duterte has opted to skip her House impeachment proceedings, while her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte has also waived his appearance at the International Criminal Court (ICC) Appeals Chamber session on Wednesday.
Former president Duterte will remain in the Hague after the ICC denied his appeal over jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) revealed in the House impeachment proceedings that it had flagged P6.77 billion in covered transaction reports and suspicious transaction reports involving Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases Carpio.
