It was truth... We were unaware of the NeoMem paper. The NeoMem arXiv paper was published after our submission to ASPLOS. The arXiv was out on 9/11/2024, and we submitted to the Summer cycle of APSLOS 2025 (which was 6/24/2024). Yan did wrote a paragraph comparing NeoMem after we saw the paper.

@geelaw95 Yeah, in most cases a flat array is good and efficient for a complete binary tree (dense) with a known size. Resizing it would be slow though.

@yet_another_t Ah you’re right, as it’s almost inevitable that map itself needs a tree. But still, it’s very common for a binary tree to be represented by a flat array.
