Bauchi Progressives Forum Rejects “Fictitious” APC @OfficialAPCNg Governorship Primary Results In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mallam Ibrahim Abdullahi, the group described the figures announced by the Primaries Committee as fictitious and an insult to the people of Bauchi State. “There was no governorship primary election in Bauchi State. Let us not attempt to deceive Nigerians. The aspirants were invited by certain individuals and asked to step down for former Governor Muhammad Abubakar. They reluctantly agreed because they were not given the opportunity of a credible direct primary,” the statement said. “It is distasteful for the Chairman of the Primaries Committee to announce figures of votes that were neither cast nor counted.” The group further challenged the Committee to produce evidence that voting took place in any ward or local government area across the state. “We had agents across the state, and there was not a single vote cast or counted anywhere. There were no queues and no accreditation of voters. So where did these figures come from?” the group queried. @officialABAT @nentawe1 Read more below thejour.com/politics/bauch…

A serving member of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Wowo, who is an ally of former Bauchi State Governor and @OfficialAPCNg governorship aspirant Mohammed Abubakar, has been spotted alongside Nazif Babaji, an aide to Muhammad Pate (@muhammadpate), receiving members of the election committee at the airport in Bauchi State. This development raises serious concerns about the impartiality and independence of the committee members. The Presidency @officialABAT, @KashimSM, @NGRPresident and APC national headquarters, @nentawe1 should take immediate note of this. @YusufTuggar @aonanuga1956 @SundayDareSD @femigbaja

“I am not in this race to compete with anyone’s money or abuse public resources for political survival. I served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (@NigeriaMFA) where there were no contracts or public funds to share. I stand before the people with integrity, not with the burden of corruption or the fear of prosecution.” — @YusufTuggar on TVC Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (@YusufTuggar) has again reaffirmed his commitment to transparent leadership and credible democratic processes, insisting on open and transparent direct primaries within the APC. Confident in the support he enjoys across Bauchi State, Tuggar maintains that his aspiration is built on trust, service, and the desire to advance the Renewed Hope vision of President @officialABAT in Bauchi State.

Questions M. A. Abubakar Needs To Answer It is worth noting that Barrister M.A. Abubakar remains the only governor in Bauchi State since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999 who failed to secure a second term. The reasons for this are clear: chronic underperformance and a distinctive lack of administrative skill. As the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg) prepares for its gubernatorial primaries in Bauchi State, various aspirants are showcasing their programmes and visions for the people. However, before we discuss what Barrister Abubakar has in store for the state, he must first answer for his past record. Notably, Barrister Abubakar is the only governor who initiated several road projects and promised their completion within a specific timeframe, yet left office without completing a single one. Given that we are in a democracy, I wonder how international friends of the “good doctor” would feel if they heard that he is trying to impose his will on 7 million people of Bauchi State, using a person whose track record is total failure! thejour.com/politics/quest…

Yesterday, His Excellency Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (@YusufTuggar) held engagements with APC caucus members from Bauchi and Torro Local Government Areas. A leading APC aspirant for the Bauchi State governorship seat, Ambassador Tuggar has, since declaring his intention to contest, consistently articulated a clear vision for the state centred on revitalising the agriculture sector, improving education, and expanding access to social amenities. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027

AMB. YUSUF TUGGAR (@YusufTuggar) AS FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER: HIS FIVE TOP LEGACIES: THE PHILOSOPHER, THE SALESMAN AND THE AMBASSADOR “Perhaps most telling was the period during which Nigeria operated without a full complement of appointed ambassadors. In many respects, this placed an extraordinary burden on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yet, within these constraints, Ambassador Tuggar, supported by the diplomatic corps and career officials, managed to sustain Nigeria's international engagements, navigate complex negotiations, and maintain the country's diplomatic presence across key capitals.” ~ Eyimofe Amajuoritse is a journalist covering Nigeria's foreign relations. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027

Part 3 🍿 For three seconds, neither of us moved. The house was quiet except for the dryer turning somewhere down the hall, thumping softly every few seconds because one of Odette’s sneakers had gotten mixed in with the towels. Sunlight came through the kitchen blinds in thin stripes and cut across Paige’s face. She stepped forward. “That’s for work,” she said. I looked at the folder. “A family law firm does work for Mercer Gains?” Her mouth opened, then closed.

Ambassador @YusufTuggar says his decision to join the governorship race is driven by a desire to return home and contribute meaningfully after years of serving the country in different capacities. He believes real development can only happen when state and local governments work efficiently and remain close to the people. According to him, many of the country’s challenges, from insecurity to the growing number of out-of-school children, can be addressed through stronger grassroots governance and better public institutions. He also expressed his commitment to improving the standard of education so that future generations can access opportunities greater than those available in the past. Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and @OfficialAPCNg Governorship Aspirant for Bauchi State.

Bauchi APC: Why Credibility Must Trump Consensus Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (@YusufTuggar) The immediate past Minister of Foreign Affairs and leading gubernatorial aspirant in Bauchi APC is a familiar name in the state’s opposition history. His resilience and consistency stand out. He began in 2007 under the ANPP as one of Bauchi’s most outstanding representatives, and later became a key strategist in the formation of the APC from the CPC bloc in 2013. His sacrifice and consistency are rare among Bauchi APC’s elite. Party loyalty and reward From 2007 to 2015, when the opposition won in Bauchi, loyal party members were often sidelined. The impeachment of H.E. Garba Gadi in 2009 and the resignation of H.E. Nuhu Gidado in 2018 to avoid a similar fate illustrate this trend. The rewards given to party members under those administrations were minimal. Such experiences have matured the system and opened the eyes of staunch party members to avoid a repeat. As we navigate the next election, those tasked with choosing the consensus candidate must rise above personal interest and put the state and its citizens first. When the collective interest of the state is prioritised, individual interests can be pursued legally and within the rules. Doing otherwise harms the party and its members. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027 dailyconcordnews.com/2026/05/10/bau…

Speaking to the press afterward, he reaffirmed his commitment to the party and principles of fairness, transparency, and internal democracy, stressing that consensus must emerge through broad consultation, not imposition, and urging members to prioritise unity and credible processes ahead of 2027. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027

This is indeed the opportunity created by 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐛𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑. This young man has taken advantage of that provision, which gives individuals, businesses, estates, factories, and communities the ability to generate up to 1 megawatt (1MW) of electricity without obtaining a license from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). As a stakeholder in the sector, this could be another opportunity for the government to reduce its over-dependency on the national grid. Kudos to this young man, he has surely gotten the grip on his house network, with a proper metering and monitoring system for his neighbours.

Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar: The Man of the People in Bauchi State For years, Bauchi has remained a state suspended between promise and underperformance. Endowed with vast agricultural opportunities, mineral resources, strategic commercial positioning, and one of the most politically conscious populations in northern Nigeria, it has nevertheless struggled to convert these advantages into broad developmental gains. Roads have been announced but abandoned midway. Healthcare facilities exist in policy documents more convincingly than in practical reality. Educational institutions continue to lose talent and competitiveness. Across many communities, there is a growing sense that governance has too often become an exercise in survival politics rather than visionary leadership. It is against this backdrop that Tuggar’s candidacy has begun to attract unusual attention. When the former Foreign Affairs Minister (@YusufTuggar) formally submitted his nomination and Declaration of Interest forms at the APC secretariat, the reactions that followed across parts of Bauchi were striking. Unlike the carefully choreographed rallies that have become routine within Nigerian politics, many observers described the response as spontaneous and organic. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027 thejour.com/politics/amb-y…

2027 Guber: Tuggar, Better prepared to Take Bauchi to Greater Heights A Profile Shaped by Experience Tuggar’s journey from Bauchi to the international diplomatic stage reflects decades of experience across multiple sectors. Before venturing fully into politics, he built a strong reputation in business and public affairs. During his time in the House of Representatives, he became known for advocating reforms in public procurement and accountability, demonstrating a governance philosophy rooted in due process and merit. His role in advancing conversations around procurement reforms and institutional accountability further strengthened his reputation as a reform-minded leader. At the diplomatic level, Tuggar served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, where he played significant roles in strengthening bilateral relations and advancing Nigeria’s interests abroad. His diplomatic engagements also contributed to efforts surrounding the return of looted Benin artefacts to Nigeria through sustained international dialogue. As Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tuggar (@YusufTuggar) projected Nigeria’s voice strongly on major regional and global issues. His tenure reflected calm diplomacy, strategic engagement, and firm defense of national interest. Among notable moments during his service was his involvement in securing the release of detained Nigerian military personnel in Burkina Faso through diplomatic negotiations. He also attracted attention internationally for firmly rejecting proposals suggesting the deportation of foreign criminal elements into Nigeria, insisting that the country must protect its sovereignty and security interests. #Tuggar4Bauchi2027 thejour.com/opinion/2027-g…
