I’d also argue that they play up to skill too and have beaten the best teams in the league too :) All about the fun of the ride lol I do hate when they lose to like Utah though 😭

@Sheepinacart @I_F32_I The original question was about whether ferromagnetic iron gets yanked through your stomach wall, and that’s a projectile force question. Eddy currents in conductors are a real but separate MRI hazard, and copper vs iron behave very differently in that context.

@yiopanda @I_F32_I This is also how many induction braking systems work, and is easily demonstrated by dropping a copper slug down a tube wrapped in wires to form an electromagnet. With a circuit made the slug falls slowly, converting energy into heat, with the circuit broken it falls as normal.

I always wondered what happened to people who ate cereal with added in supplement iron dust if they went to the MRI. Like surely the fact it's fine grit doesn't stop it from being yanked full strength out of the side of your stomach?

@samkostka @I_F32_I Yeah that is true, it is ferromagnetic. The thing is that it becomes para or dia once you ingest it and it becomes part of your bloodstream after it’s broken down. I am also pretty certain that it’s too small and too spread apart to interact as a ferromagnetic substance.

@yiopanda @I_F32_I The iron in fortified cereal is ferromagnetic though. It's not an organic molecule containing iron, it is literally iron filings baked into the cereal
