@c_jimmyy I agree with this just like the coin operated boy was the narrator's property, Medusa was like Athena's property. Athena had control over Medusa's life, turning her hair into snakes and making her so hideous that she can turn any to stone.

He is told to go on a mission to retrieve the head of Medusa which he knows is a death sentence, he obliged anyway.
