@tom7heaton @theficouple I agree with the first part and disagree with the second. It is an akin to a personal index fund and it’s personalized to me and my understanding of the market and it’s outperformed the index for the last three years so why would i choose the S&P instead

@theficouple Instead of people consistently implementing a solid strategy which in my case involves holding 25-50% broad market and sector specific indexes they consistently do all or nothing speculative equity plays that get wiped or outperformed by the S&P

@theficouple If you have strategy and competence you can consistently outperform the S&P 500. The issue isn’t a matter of finding and implementing a better strategy than broad market index investing that’s only partially it. The other half of the equation is due diligence and consistency

@NotA_Bull Why would I have an emergency fund when my portfolio holdings are highly liquid and I can convert them into cash within seconds at any moment? I have enough in a HYSA to cover monthly overhead plus a little bit more as cushion if overhead deviates from the average.
