#YNWMellyRetrial: @YNWMelly’s attorney, Stuart Adelstein filed a Motion To Compel Detective Kristina Luna To Answer Questions Pertaining To Her Involvement In This Investigation with the Broward Clerk on Wednesday, June 4. This marks Adelstein’s second filing about Detective Luna, who authorized search warrants for Detective Danny Polo and more. He filed a 36-page motion on Luna in April. In the new 2-page motion, Adelstein seeks the court to force Detective Luna to testify about the controversial search warrant targeting his defense team. Adelstein seeks to compel Detective Kristina Luna to answer deposition questions. Adelstein claims that despite the court’s order, Detective Luna, who authored the warrant, refused to answer questions during her March 2025 deposition, prompting this motion. YNW Melly’s attorney claims a search warrant was executed on defense team member Raven Liberty’s Apple account, and the State withheld this information for over a year. The Motion to Compel claims the Prosecution plans to use evidence from a related witness tampering case to support its murder case against Demons. A hearing on Det. Kristina Luna’s Motion To Compel will be heard on June 20 at 8:45 AM EST. YNW Melly attorney Raven Liberty’s Rehearing of Denying Pretrial Release will also be heard on June 20, with Judge Martin S. Pryor and attorney John Phillips, Esq (@JohnPhillips) with the Broward County Clerk on Monday afternoon (May 5). In the 8-page document, YNW Melly’s defense claims Harold F. Pryor’s office and attorney John Phillips, who represent the estate of YNW Juvy, of misconduct for leaking and publicizing sensitive evidence, threatening his right to a fair trial. The motion alleges that unredacted autopsy photos were improperly shared by the State Attorney’s Office with Phillips, an attorney not entitled to the evidence, without notifying the court or Demons’ defense. Melly’s attorney, Raven Liberty, claims John Phillips later posted some of these autopsy images of victim Christopher Thomas, YNW Juvy, on social media, sparking public commentary and potentially tainting the jury pool. During her deposition, Ms. King over broadly took the 5th Amendment, argued with me, then left after a history of lies and excuses.
