the 94ms for a dialogue box is crazy. my brain doesn't comprehend how it isn't a 1 frame startup time.

You gotta be kidding me. how is it possible for that little box to have such terrible latency when Kulve boots up instantly and it makes hundreds of network requests, downloads hundreds of images, and loads it all in a full sized, fully Liquid Glass app window. With animations.

@nextgenos2026 how's it possible for it to load that slow and it's just a tiny little box 💀 here's Kulve on a fresh boot downloading hundreds of images, making hundreds of network requests, and doing it all with animations in a fully Liquid Glass app window.

Just want to make sure I'm reading this right: Microsoft rewrote the run dialog with performance "top-of-mind", and the best they could manage to do when putting up a single text box was 10fps?

The team developing the new Windows Run knew it couldn't just be as good as the classic Windows Run, it had to be *better(. Reduced launch time from ~103ms to ~94ms. C#/WinUI 3, .NET AOT app.
