As much as I love Craig, the failure of Apple Intelligence and the litany of bugs in OS 26 reflect badly on his leadership. Ternus is absolutely the right guy to get the top job. The Apple Silicon transition was smooth and universally appreciated. And, Apple's future roadmap is full of hardware advances, from foldables to AR glasses, to robotic personal assistants. The next 25 years require a hardware visionary, and that's Ternus.

Took almost a week of poking at codex, but looks like i have a (mac only) port of MLX for running gemma4 in pure Rust. Still doing some optimisations / adding multimodal input now but, i have working AI that costs me 1 second of buildtime.

I'm aware this is an April fools joke but this is a real sentiment I've seen recently. I don't really understand why people are abandoning SwiftUI. Is it perfect? No. Should it be better by now? Absolutely. Is it worse than UIKit in most scenarios? No it's often better or easier.

half of SwiftUI performance tinkering is to find the component that is backed by UIKit and use that one, not the "SwiftUI native"
