If you’re talking about biological therapeutics like cell therapies, yes manufacturing processes is unique, but the processes for biologic therapeutics are typically patented.

That’s literally how patents for therapeutics/biology/biochemistry work, a researcher can pull the ozempic patent and literally recreate ozempic (semaglutide) not change a single amino acid. It’s how research institutions/academics/pharma companies continue making progress in research by utilizing the patents to recreate whatever molecule/modality is patented. Disclosing all this in the patent protects Novo to ensure competitirs dont copycat ozempic and sell it themselves before the patent expiration date. Thats why generics for medicines cant enter the market until the patents expire.
