It’s a mixed bag.
Here’s my honest take: they’re not stupid in the conventional sense. Most of them work, pay bills, raise families, and move through life like everyone else. But a lot of them are driven by fear, resentment, and denial. They fear immigrants, obsess over gay and trans people, and project a toughness they often don’t actually have.
Deep down, many of them know Trump is a fraud. They know liberals have been right about plenty. But admitting that would force them to confront how much of their identity is built on grievance, anger, and being wrong. So instead, they double down. They stay confused, defensive, and emotionally unequipped to face the truth.

I’m the only developer of data centers on earth that graduated from environmental studies. I'm pretty aware of what these concerns are. They are around air, water use, heat, noise pollution. So sustainability is at the heart of what we do in terms of all these proposals. We search for the best technology. There's many air-cooled turbines now, so you're blending in air-cooled versus water. There's so many different ways to generate power. We can also put a percentage of the power generation through solar, wind, and batteries because the battery technology is 10X more efficient than it was just five years ago. So that's very helpful because it makes the cost of energy lower.

The new U.S. counterterrorism strategy, detailed in a 16-page memo, identifies three main terror threats facing the nation: "narco-terrorists and transnational gangs," "legacy Islamist terrorists" and "violent left-wing extremists, including anarchists and anti-fascists."
That last group is later defined as "those whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender and anarchist," citing, among other threats, the man accused of murdering conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The memo makes no mention of right-wing extremist groups, despite research from the U.S. government and others indicating those groups are responsible for the majority of violent attacks over the last several years.
