I can't process the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse w/o thinking of @JessieSingerNYC There Are No Accidents. the disaster exposed issues we didn't care to address. it speaks volumes abt who bears the impact of failures, how we value immigrants, workers, & infrastructure too

@JessieSingerNYC 6+ lives & families forever, 8,000 workers & families for months, millions of dollars a day for months and more. hoping there are immediate corrections on comms protocols to workers (at minimum) but that remains to be seen.

even if the Belt Pkwy is a pleasant drive (when exactly??), it was designed for exclusion. we should be asking WHY such a thing should be admired. bc niceties & silver linings on bad projects are killing brown ppl, poor ppl, and the planet too.

Checking out the electric & Direct Vision vehicles at @NYCDCAS Fleet expo today. It’s part trade show, part job fair (a bunch of automotive HS kids here) and also part cookout (who knew?). 200 vendors showcasing better, safer, greener vehicles and equipment.
