@redkacheek @saulgoodmanDFS You're either not processing how much slope is on both sides of the pin, or you don't understand golf. Even other pros said they wouldn't have considered trying this shot during competition. They also don't play greens this difficult nearly every week
English

@saulgoodmanDFS That people think it’s a crazy shot. They hit this shot nearly every week
English

@GolfonCBS @PGAChampionship Show the golf shots you 🤡. You're showing this a 2nd time instead of covering multiple players in the lead.
English

"You used one word to describe your play in round one, use one word to describe your play after round three" 😅
Rory McIlroy spoke with Amanda Balionis after completing play Saturday @PGAChampionship
English

@TronCarterNLU They decided to show Rory walking for a solid 2 minutes over that back 9. No excuse for that
English

@PaoloUggetti @KylePorterNS In other words "I thought I could have hit driver wherever I wanted and have easy wedge shots. But the mean PGA made the pins too hard."
Like you said, there's very few hazards, the defense of this golf course is the greens. Hit better approach shots or putt better

PGA Championship is in a pretty tough spot
It already gets criticized for not having an identity compared to other majors, which i definitely think is fair, and I understand some players and fans don't love the setup, but isn't cool to see them take it right to the edge on the harder side for once?
They'd get even more criticism if 15 under was leading right now, and what should differentiate majors from regular tests is the mental examination aspect of it. I love seeing players frustration, we rarely ever get to see it the other 40 weeks of the year on the PGA Tour.
Players used to complain at US Opens all the time, and I understand why the USGA veers on the side of caution now, although I wish they would be more willing to make players more uncomfortable.. one week out of the year
I think it's totally understandable and a good thing that the PGA heard the easiness chatter and pushed the boundary with some of these pins, and I actually would expect them to set it up easier tomorrow, but pretty ridiculous that the same people who would hate if its 15-under leading right now are also now complaining that it's now too hard/boring/"not separating great play enough."
Analytically, there's zero guarantee/evidence that we'd see a higher slope if it was an easier setup. Its actually very possible that skill would separate less if we removed some approach penalty. Also, if the closest thing to the PGA's identity right now is that we are going to be guaranteed an exciting weekend, we have 43 players within 5 strokes of the lead, don't know what more you can ask for.

@acaseofthegolf1 @DontCutKids I agree, that's why I said he's an unserious golfer. My point is that they need to fix the rules. Need to be far more concerned with pace of play vs something like this
English

@acaseofthegolf1 @DontCutKids I think he's a very unserious golfer for being late and making the comments he did. But there is an argument. He was ready when his name was called, it had zero impact on the tournament, no advantage was gained. But players take 5 minutes to aimpoint a 5 footer nothing is done
English

@DontCutKids 1. Agree on slow play being enforced
2. That has nothing to do with this and cant be the defense.
English

@NoLayingUp This is going to be such a flop. The pros will end up optimizing via Trackman and have no net impact. But the weekend warrior will actually loose yardage.
English

It's been challenging to be:
1. Pro rollback
2. Concerned with how it's being implemented
This Cam story is one of several we've heard about how easy it is for players and manufacturers to essentially circumvent the effects of the rollback based on how the rule is written.

An interesting story out of the PGA Championship. Multiple sources confirmed that Cameron Young has been using a golf ball that would very likely be deemed conforming under the new testing standards set out by the R&A and USGA. Read ⬇️ golfchannel.com/pga-tour/news/…

@PenguinsJesus When's the "would have at least shown a pulse in the 2nd round" banner raising ceremony? Would love to attend
English

Never wrong, just early.
Pens would have at least shown a pulse.
Penguins Jesus@PenguinsJesus
Whatever. Both teams were going to get dogwalked by Carolina.
English

For the record, this is what Tocchet had to say about the refs tonight: "I thought the refs were awesome. It was a good game for them in the sense that they let [the teams] play. It's fun to watch when there's not a lot of penalties." So...
Carolina Hurricanes@Canes
Flyers fans trying to figure out how to blame the refs when their team gets swept
English

@AmedeoGrassia98 I'm in the middle. 5v5 he is not playing playoff level hockey, weak turnovers, questionable D zone positioning. Even when he got some brief 2nd line time.
But not using him on the PP more is a horrible coaching decision. His creativity and passing is worth a chance there.
English

Anytime you bring up Matvei Michkov you get two completely different people
People who are considered fan boys and cockroaches for defending
Or people who hate his work ethic and think he sucks (trust me there are genuine hockey people that think he stinks)
There are rarely people who stay in the middle. He hasn’t looked good this year, but he could’ve been deployed better in certain situations.
If he comes into camp next season with a better mindset and is in shape but still isn’t getting a chance to prove himself then we have a problem, same way if he comes in out of shape again
This last point is my deep fear, you trade him this offseason and you’ll instantly regret it because that’s what the Flyers do
English

@Murph23B @afern_alex He doesn't need the best footwork for a 5 on 3. He's also 4th on the team in assists this season (3rd of players dressed last night).
What is a better solution to the PP right now? They have to try something different
English

@zach7m @afern_alex Last year that was true. It’s not right now. Michkov is a 50/50 guy right now in his O zone play. 50% of his hopeful passes are successful and 50% end up going the other way. Watch his feet. He’s doing most things with stationary feet.
English

@Murph23B @afern_alex Are you watching the power play? He has very good passing and playmaking ability, and our PP is missing that. They can't even pass tape to tape on open lanes, let alone complete seam passes or something creative. At 5 on 5, I mostly agree with you.
English

@zach7m @afern_alex Why though? Are you watching the games? Are you seeing his compete level? I want to love him like everyone and want him to be great but right now he’s their slowest and least competitive forward. He was supposed to be this competitive demon in addition to his skill set. He’s not.
English

@nhl_review @jaggerdoll68 Slashing is also a penalty you moron. Makes no difference if it hits his face. You can't wildly fling your stick at an opponent on purpose
English

@jaggerdoll68 It does look like he hits in the chest, we don’t punish for only intent (whatever it was)
English

@PhillyMerk @FlyersNation He can pass. The biggest issue with the PP is they can't make and/or catch passes
