JUST IN: Meta announces they'll be shutting down the Metaverse, after pouring $80,000,000,000.00 into the project.

Ladies, gentlemen, SWs fans…😝 I have explored space. I have explored time. Now… I explore distortion. Yes. You read that correctly. I am releasing a HEAVY METAL album. Thirty-five metal virtuosos. Thunderous guitars. Chaos with purpose. Covers of legends like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest — and a few originals forged in the same cosmic fire. This project is, quite literally, a gathering of forces. Loud imagination. Honest intensity. Unapologetic exploration. At 94, one does not slow down. One turns the volume up. So prepare yourselves. We are about to boldly headbang where no one has headbanged before. 🤘 Stay tuned. The metal voyage begins this year.

Most adults don’t need more discipline. They need more permission to feel alive. People often treat this quote like a piece of pretty advice, but it gets at something deeper: We spend so much of our lives trying not to look foolish, trying not to be too much, trying not to care openly, that we forget what it feels like to be fully alive. But the moments that stay with us are the moments when we forget to manage ourselves. When we laugh too loudly. Say how we really feel. Let our guard down long enough to experience something fully. That’s the spirit of this quote. What’s one small way you could let yourself be a little more alive today?

The AWS outage has impacted some of our users since last night, disrupting their sleep. That is not the experience we want to provide and I want to apologize for it. We are taking two main actions: 1) We are restoring all the features as AWS comes back. All devices are currently working, with some experiencing data processing delays. 2) We are currently outage-proofing your Pod experience and we will be working tonight-24/7 until that is done. More updates soon.

In a world of useful AI chat bots and agents, the need and usefulness of many existing modalities will be challenged. Take browsers and payment flows. Today, if you need “something”, you use a browser and search for it. You then go to that site, load up your cart and then check out, putting in your payment details. Tomorrow, you can just tell the AI what you roughly need. It will then go out, do all the hard work of comparison and search and deliver you an elegant summary of the results so you can click on everything you want. Then an agent will load up all of those carts on your behalf. It will also take your payment credentials and check out. But in the second step, xAI, OpenAI etc will just keep your payment details on file for you and simply write the transaction over stablecoins to the site in question. My prediction here is that the AI Chatbot is becoming the front door of the internet much faster than we realize. It will subsume many existing behaviors. Inasmuch, these new front doors will render things like browsers and payment services relatively useless within 2-3 years.
