First day of VA training was today. VA was 2 hours late and said “needed to bring mom to ER”. I don’t buy it, but whatever. She finally gets home and we do training for a couple of hours because I had to go. Once I had to leave I left her with some loom video SOP’s for her to watch. Couple hours pass, she still hasn’t watched the videos. So I send her a text asking what she thinks of the videos. She says “I think they’re great they’re helping me know exactly how you do your daily tasks”. She hasn’t watched the videos. She lied to my face. 2 mins after sending that text, she starts watching the videos. Fired? Thin ice? What are our opinions

To add onto this: I have insurance and the other cleaner scheduled with her has insurance. We both are at the job so that wouldn’t have been an issue. If something were to happen, it would’ve fell on mine.

New cleaner no called no showed for first clean today. Her reason? Didn’t have insurance yet & didn’t want to be unprepared. Otherwise, passed the interview with flying colors and has 3 years of experience. Keep her or terminate? @SMBMoneyMike @pjmcgeary @cyrusfba

My cleaning business has officially doubled in 2 months. 📈 My largest month before March was August 2025 with ~$17.8k and never came very close after that. I crossed $24k on April's calendar this morning, my goal for the month was $23k. No massive post construction job or anything this month either. So blessed and grateful.

She ended up saying that my business won’t last if I treat people like this But… I feel it’s common sense. If a client is complaining about you on your first job about things that was already outlined in an interview then we’re obviously not a good fit.

Now, I’m looking at myself on how I could’ve prevented this. It’s my fault. I hired her. I’m making further documentation of our standards, and reiterating these Learning that even if you go over expectations in an interview, things still have to be laid out in laymen terms

After the clean, the client told us verbatim: “I don’t want her back in my house.” But… They still signed up for monthly service with our other cleaner. That’s all I needed to hear. I paid her out and ended the agreement.

She showed up 30 minutes late. Didn’t bring all her supplies… had to borrow from her teammate. Client said she smelled like smoke. Said her energy felt off and it made them uncomfortable. Even the nanny said she was just kind of dragging and wasting time.

@sullevol Do you have proof of service? Texts saying they loved the clean, before/after pictures, call recordings? If so I’d send them a letter saying you’ll take them to small claims if they don’t pay what they owe. And pay your team. It’s not your teams fault, they did the job.
