I know Matt's point. I was critiquing Eli on his comment that it was a false dichotomy because we can still have that food and fix the problem. As if Matt was talking about the food. Which I get Eli's point. The food is a good part of the culture. We can allow people in who the rest of the culture is good as well. But mass immigration is definitely not going to make that happen. We obviously as a nation should be able to say no to people coming in.

The talking point is always something like "we need cultural diversity to bring wonderful variety to our boring old white countries"

Agreed. But it's not the food that @MattWalshBlog wants gone. It's people who hate what we believe and our way of life. Having terrorists here is not worth bringing in any other culture's food. I agree that it should be true that vetting should be possible. But the standards need to be high.

The worst decision in my life as a born and raised Nashvillian? Shutting down Opryland to open a shopping mall they could have built anywhere. Opryland would be even more popular today than it was when I was a kid. Huge whiff by the city. Loved it. Miss it.
