It's not complicated and it's got nothing to do with style of football, nobody wants to see big teams who haven't won anything in a while break their duck. It's standard fan stuff. Almost no champions or challengers are ever actually loved by the 'neutral' because there is no such thing as a 'neutral.' People don't mind City winning the league because it's very easy to compartmentalise and they don't have a big fanbase so people just don't encounter many City fans online and in day to day life. All this stuff about 'style' is utter nonsense.

Crazy that Moyes was Everton manager back then, sold Rooney to Manchester United, signed Arteta, sold Arteta to Arsenal, moved to Manchester United to manage Rooney again, Arteta retired and came back to manage Arsenal, and Moyes returned to Everton for today to happen

Silly question on a number of levels (all the players were different so of course the setpiece routines were different). But it shows, imo, how the moral panic / discourse over corners lacks critical thinking.

@SpotOnBrycey2 I think perhaps I got my read on him all wrong. I thought he’d be a more high touch player, but at the minute he plays in moments.
Gyokores has been more impactful for us than Eze.
I’m not concerned though, he’ll come good.

Absolutely delighted with that result and performance but I’ve come away from the game very miffed about Eze….
I know about how good we are defensively, I know all I need to know about Zubi & Gyokores

Howard Webb: “The goalkeeper got a clear touch on the ball so it wasn’t a foul.” It took five minutes of VAR review and multiple different angles to show the touch. That’s not clear, and the touch doesn’t change the direction of the ball. Making it up as he goes along.
