It is a world suspended in empty space. Job’s cosmology is not primitive; it is astonishingly accurate. Any model requiring physical supports, foundations, or a rigid dome collapses under this single verse. Isaiah 40:22 adds another layer. The prophet says, “הַיֹּשֵׁב עַל־חוּג הָאָרֶץ” — “He sits above the chug of the earth.” The word chug does not mean a flat disk; it means a circle, a compass‑drawn curve, a rounded horizon. The verse describes God looking down from above, with humanity appearing as grasshoppers beneath Him. This is not the language of a small enclosed plane. The biblical writers consistently describe the world as having a circular horizon, not a literal flat disk with corners or edges. But the Hebrew verb mot (“to be moved”) is used throughout Scripture to describe moral, political, or spiritual instability — not literal physical motion. The “four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11:12; Revelation 7:1) is idiomatic language for the whole world, just as we still say “the four corners of the globe.” No one imagines a literal square planet. The Hebrew kanaph means extremity, border, or farthest reach — not geometric corners. The firmament (raqia) in Genesis 1 is another misunderstood term. The root raqaq means “to spread out, to thin, to stretch.” The raqia is the expanse — the sky, the atmosphere — where birds fly (Genesis 1:20) and where the sun, moon, and stars are placed (Genesis 1:14–17). Nothing in the text requires a solid metal dome. Ancient phenomenological language describes the sky as it appears, not as a rigid structure. The Hebrews saw the heavens as stretched out, not hammered into a vault. When all these passages are taken together — Job’s suspended earth, Isaiah’s curved horizon, the circular boundary of day and night, the stretched‑out heavens, the idiomatic corners, the metaphorical immovability — the flat‑earth model collapses. It cannot survive the full testimony of Scripture. But the deeper issue is not cosmology. It is eschatology. Many cling to a flat‑earth model because they assume that when Christ returns, they will still be in flesh bodies, standing on a physical surface, needing a physical line of sight for “every eye shall see Him” (Revelation 1:7). They imagine Jesus descending into the atmosphere of a flat plane so that all fleshly eyes can look upward simultaneously. This is the root of the error. Paul destroys this assumption in a single sentence: “We shall all be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51). At the seventh trumpet — the last trumpet — “the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (15:52). Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God (15:50). The mortal puts on immortality. The corruptible puts on incorruption. This is not metaphor. It is transformation. Paul says the same in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17. At the Lord’s descent, the dead rise first, and the living are “caught up” — not in flesh, but in the same spiritual body Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 15. The resurrection body is not fleshly, not limited, not bound by physical optics. When Christ returns, no one remains in the flesh. Every eye sees Him because every person is in the spiritual body, fully capable of perceiving the glory of His appearing. The flat‑earth model is not driven by Scripture. It is driven by a refusal to accept the transformation of the body at the seventh trumpet. Once the biblical doctrine of resurrection is restored, the need for a flat plane, a dome, or a physical line‑of‑sight vanishes. The Scriptures do not teach a flat earth. They teach a resurrected humanity beholding the returning King in spiritual bodies, no longer bound by the limitations of flesh.

Let's settle this nonsense once and for all, now that we have Artemis to use to push down the flat earthers once and for all time. The "Flat Earth" nonsense started out as a psyop in the early 19th century to call Christians stupid for believing the bible, which purportedly called the world flat by saying there were angels at the four corners of the world holding back the winds. In other words, North, South, East, and West, the cardinal points on the compass we have to this day, and how we define the winds. A Nor'easter, for example, blows from the northeast. If the world were flat, this would be a line. Because the world is a sphere, this line is a circle, separating day on earth and night on earth. Just as the bible says.
