May 2026 has been a whirlwind. 5/2: Pulled an all-nighter and came up with the idea for LocalTrust. 5/3: Pitched it to Matthew Provins. 5/7: We launched. No ads. No big announcement. No perfect GTM strategy. Just conversations with real local business owners. Within the first week, we had 4 active users. All 4 converted into paying customers. 2 of them are now trusting us to build their websites. And the best part? Our customers genuinely love what we’re building. Just ask Alex from AB Window Cleaning. LocalTrust started as an idea at 3 AM. Now it’s helping local businesses build trust, get found and grow. May has been a blur. I can’t wait to see what June has in store. #buildinginpublic

Most of the barriers we face are the ones we build in our own mind. 200 dials a day sounds impossible. Until you do it once. 10,000 steps a day sounds like a lot. Until it becomes part of your routine. Putting yourself out there feels uncomfortable. Until you realize nobody is paying as much attention as you think they are. The limit usually isn’t the task. It’s the story we tell ourselves about the task. “I’m not ready.” “That’s too much.” “I can’t do that.” “What if I fail?” Our perception becomes our reality. And the only way to change the reality is to challenge the perception. Push a little further. Make the extra call. Take the extra step. Post the thing. Have the hard conversation. Most of the time, the wall wasn’t as tall as we thought. We just had to walk through it. ✌

Growth doesn’t shut off on the weekends. That doesn’t mean you need to grind 24/7. It doesn’t mean you can’t rest. It doesn’t mean you should feel guilty for spending time with your family, watching a game, going for a walk or doing absolutely nothing. But a growth mindset isn’t a Monday through Friday thing. It’s how you see the world. It’s hearing a conversation and thinking, “There’s a lesson in that.” It’s looking at a setback and asking, “What can I learn?” It’s trying something new even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s paying attention when most people are checked out. The weekend doesn’t have to be about working more. Sometimes it’s about thinking clearer. Resetting. Reflecting. Getting curious. Coming back sharper. Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like rest. Sometimes it looks like a hard conversation. Sometimes it looks like reading one chapter. Sometimes it looks like taking a walk and finally having the idea you’ve been forcing all week. Keep growing. Even when the calendar says you’re off. #buildinginpublic

Founder-led sales sounds great… until it’s time to pick up the phone. A lot of founders say they want to be close to the market. But they’re afraid to cold call. That’s the part I don’t understand. Cold calls are one of the fastest ways to find out: Is the pain real? Does this message resonate? Are we actually talking to the right ICP? You can spend weeks tweaking landing pages, building sequences, and debating positioning. Or you can call 25 people in your market and hear the truth directly from them. The tone. The hesitation. The objections. The “wait, tell me more.” The “we don’t need this.” All of it is feedback. And honestly, that feedback is gold. Founder-led sales doesn’t just mean sending a few warm emails or posting on LinkedIn. Sometimes it means doing the uncomfortable thing. Picking up the phone. Talking directly to your ICP. And letting the market tell you what’s real. #buildinginpublic

Made a short call block today for LocalTrust. 30 minutes of calling local service businesses in the San Diego area. 7 calls 2 connects 2 conversations 15 minutes of talk time These were all follow-up calls from people who didn’t pick up yesterday. One had a call screener. Still got through. One conversation turned into a future opportunity. The other turned into a referral. Nothing crazy. No massive call volume. No “10 meetings booked in 30 minutes” story. Just real conversations with local business owners. And honestly, that’s the game right now. Follow up. Get on the phone. Learn what people care about. Earn trust one conversation at a time. LocalTrust is being built through conversations, not assumptions. #buildinginpublic
