One of the best updates of all time @JustTeddii, have brought back the chapter 1 excitement that used to come almost weekly. Changes that obviously came from the team listening to the community feedback and applying your own spin on things. Crazy update.

This might be one of my favorite Fortnite season launches of all time and I have played every single season of Fortnite since the beginning. Thank you, Epic!

1. Map changes- I enjoyed Chapter 6 but wasn’t very fond of any of the map changes, especially in the final season (bug season). I felt like the map got progressively worse throughout the Chapter. I think Squibbly Shores is visually appealing but also is unique in the sense that consumable fish spawn around the POI, and there is even an infinite fish spawner. Frigid Fortress is vastly different from the other new POIs and is nostalgic as it reminds me of Polar Peak from Chapter 1. I honestly haven’t even gone to New Sanctuary because I’ve been having so much fun at the other new POIs. 2. Rivalry System- I am a big fan of in game features that offer early and mid game structure which helps with pacing and leaves less boring down time. I loved Chapter 4 Season 4 for this reason. Every game, I landed Sanguine Suites, looted the vault, rifted past Brutal Bastion, fought for Forecast Tower which also came with a gold Twin Mag AR and a gold Slurp. After that, it was typically around the time that my cache would spawn and I would rotate towards that and fight for a gold Pump and another gold Slurp. After playing for all of these objectives, the game would usually be approaching the end and so every game felt action packed. The Rivalry system creates this same feeling for me as I feel like I always have a purpose or objective throughout the game besides the primary objective of securing the Victory Royale. I also love that fun in game loot can be unlocked as you level up your Rivalry Rank, and the cherry on top is that there are even real rewards like GPUs and consoles that can be earned for the highest ranked players. This creates a fun, competitive atmosphere and incentivizes players to continue grinding throughout the season. 3. Loot Pool- I was surprised that such few changes to the core loot pool had such a large impact on the meta and how fights play out. I’ve found myself having to adjust my play style slightly to accommodate the new shotgun but this has made the game feel so fun and fresh. The new shotgun requires you to always take optimal peeks because it hits very hard and is incredibly punishing. 4. Movement- I have always been a proponent of shockwaves being removed from Build Battle Royale. They are one of the less balanced mobility times because they are very effective at both keying and disengaging, require very little skill to use, and are extremely difficult to counter (in build fights specifically). They also break through multiple fully built walls regardless of the material and ultimately make fights more random and less skillful. The new shockwaves are a PERFECTLY balanced alternative and I have found myself really enjoying them in both casual pub lobbies and competitive Division Cups. I also really enjoy the Seven gloves for movement and actually think they could be buffed slightly. The plentiful and balanced mobility makes the game so enjoyable. There is even more that I enjoy about this season, but hope that helps give you an idea!
