beehiiv just crossed $2M MRR but most founders are still stuck trying to generate their first $100K to celebrate the milestone I’m going to try something new… I’m sharing the exact playbook we used in the early days (10 simple tactics) hope this helps someone:

tired of your email company talking about their logo for 6 months? disappointed they ship updates slower than LA traffic? wish the platform didn't look like it was built in the 90s? don't worry — we @beehiiv are here to help 🤝

@notjerrywang Yep! Elliptical is a great place to start. Just follow a similar ladder style with resistance (2 min heavy, 1 min light). Work your way up and then back down.

@zamarks1 that's amazing! Is there a way to achieve a similar result with elliptical?

Giving an inflated title in the early days of a start-up is the easiest way to set someone up for failure down the road.

Twitter’s big problem as I see it is that it’s just not profitable for what it currently offers. It needs to be a platform for content creators—video, writing.

@burning_pm Personally find a lot of SOCs lack the understanding of not just the existing tools available to them but also when/how to use them effectively. Compounded with high churn rates and loss of tribal knowledge

@LeaKissner Measuring/quantifying how well your products/systems are performing will usher in a new challenge for security teams - industry is moving away from “is this feature turned on? Yes? I’m good” to “how can I make my products work together better”

I was just asked what the differences are between the fields of privacy, security, and health/trust&safety. Here's my best shot -- do you have better? Security: our products/systems behave how they're supposed to, even in the presence of adversaries

@OnlyCFO @nearcertainty1 Seeing this a lot in security. The trend has been buy more instead of maximizing what’s already available. 9 times out of 10 there’s deeply embedded features or features from different products that can work together to solve the problem

@nearcertainty1 Purchasing best-in-class point solutions were definitely the more recent trend during the good times. Companies were ending up with 100s of software solutions that makes it impossible to properly track and monitor usage/costs.

The software buying trend is changing. I am hearing a lot of CEOs and CFOs say that they want to consolidate software tools and buy more from multi-product companies and eliminate point solutions in an effort to reduce spend.
