You a lawyer? Probably not, right? So what, in your vast knowledge of the law, says that a defendant doesn't have the right to a recess when an immediate family member passes away? I'm curious because there are hundreds upon hundreds of cases with precedent for a one day recess due to a death in the family. In fact, if Trump had been held in jail over these cases, he would have been taken out just to be there for this event with his family. So, how is it an inmate would get better treatment than a former President who has not been convicted of a single crime? Give me a break with your bullshit!!

It is not unreasonable for a lawyer to ask (and ask often to make sure the record is clear) for a one day court recess for a party to attend a funeral;Trump has asked for this one day recess -remember, he was close to his mother in law (she lived with Trump and Melanie); a one day recess in the civil trial will not impact the case or what the jury decides but does show a mean spirited judge;
