Henry and Zidane played 55 games together before Zidane assisted him for the first time, and that was in that 2006 World Cup game against Brazil. It was a setpiece.
They never hit it off on the pitch. Henry wanted a Bergkamp, Zidane wanted a Ronaldo. They both had different tastes in creators and strikers. Henry loved combination play and fast releases. Zidane wanted to dazzle before he releases you to do the rest.
Henry wants to run into space. He’s expecting the pass asap.
It was a case of two extremely gifted footballers not just being stylistically compatible. It’s not a Henry-only case as you’ve made it seem. Henry was also BEGGING for a midfielder who could play him in quickly. He enjoyed playing with Youri Djorkaeff.

In any case, Henry was rarely the focal point for France or Barcelona because he played mostly as a winger and he was a far better team player and prolific creator than Zidane.

This is an opportunity for me to say that I always hated Zidanes football. That dude was basically an “Odegaard” on the pitch and his career is overrated

@zdof5y @Real1_balogun It is all well and good to choose Isolated instances but what did they win together? there's a comp I saw with multiple passes to Henry as well but that doesn't change the fact of what we saw in real time. If you watch the 3 World cups they played together you'd see what I mean.

@xtesmifhetht There are big misses here but you can’t conclude with this too. These were over 55 games. A miss could be a question of many factors. A run made too early, a pass made too late, simply poor conversion. This only shows one of it.
