@vincentamedina Agree that incentives would help. But reviewing was a very informative for me, I think it made me a better researcher; Doing good reviews in your field's journals can help name recognition with AEs; Being on EBs is a strong competence signal especially for T&P :)

@mbialek82 @amazonmturk Not platforms "like" mturk though, just vanilla MTurk. Slides later shows Prolific, CloudResearch, and student sample (Mturk-based) don't show this bias.

Very concering results, challenging the validity of #crowdsourced platforms like @amazonmturk

Using attention checks does NOT resolve contradictory findings from MTurk (completely opposite correlation between being a night person and extraversion when “extraversion” is on the right side of the scale versus left side of the scale). From Randy Gao at U Chicago BDRM conf.

I have a BIG announcement! When I embraced #OpenScience in 2017, it was challenging, but mentorship from senior leaders in academia was the support that I needed. Their guidance helped me navigate the difficulties and reinforced the importance of a supportive academic community where I can try out new tactics.
That’s why I’m excited to share the Advancement of Replications Initiative in Management (ARIM), co-led along with Andreas Schwab and Billy Obenauer. We are devoted to building a highly collaborative research community between doctoral students and leaders in management and related areas via replication-focused research. We hope to build on the literature through highly collaborative literal and constructive replication projects.
We have three planned for summer 2024.
Project 1: The Dark Side of Goal Setting (arimweb.org/replications-i…)
Project 2: The Romance of Leadership (arimweb.org/replications-i…)
Project 3: Industry Cluster Dynamics (arimweb.org/replications-i…)
Click here (arimweb.org/replications-i…) to learn more about participating.
If you are a doctoral student who wants to participate, please consider applying (tinyurl.com/yrprw87r).
🔄 Retweet to advocate for more mentorship in #ManagementStudies and #GlobalResearch! #ARIM2024

@CortRudolph @davidjholman @PaulESpector Editors can limit the review letter length. Encourage precision and quality over long-winded, nit-picky, and perfectionism-driven reviews. I doubt one less robustness check will compromise the quality of the work. Good for everybody. Hurts nobody.
English

@davidjholman @PaulESpector At #IOP we are committed to common sense peer review procedures and standards to the benefit of authors, reviewers and editors: cambridge.org/core/journals/…

This morning I am thinking about why it is getting harder and harder to find peer reviewers. There are solutions, but it will take collective effort. #peerreview #iopsychology #management

English

@CortRudolph @BrighthouseFin you could try contacting the 403b supplier at your new financial institution, they should be able to start the transfer process too, I think. Its a lot easier to get help when asking to put in (vs. taking out) monies :)
English

Customer service at @BrighthouseFin might be the worst I have ever encountered. I hate to put them on blast on Twitter, but I am running out of ideas after 6 months of trying to transfer a 403b from a former employer, with multiple hours on the phone, being outright lied to, etc.

papers that state - in the title - that they offer 'best practices' are certainly useful (don't get me wrong), however:
• they presume definitiveness for the field (they are 'best' after all) before being subjected to wider consideration, revision, or extension
• they immediately beg for citations (they are 'best' after all), a win-win for the author and the editor/journal, but....
• they can (as they often should) become outdated by practices that may not be labeled 'best'
how about renaming these titles 'best-for-now-given-the-current-state-of-affairs-and-what-these-expert-authors-know' practices :)
