@lifeatthenest I do recall panicking over a playground game in the early 00s which was apparently called 'sex tig' It set all the safeguarding alarms going until we discovered the name came from shouting the word SEX when you tigged someone.

Investigated a suspicious gaggle of Y3 children today who declared they were just playing “The licking game” Apparently, they’d licked the tyres and the climbing wall and were on their way to lick the boys’ bathroom. 34 years of kids and they still come up with things to shock.

My class wrote letters to another year 6 class and that class also wrote back to them. They spoke about SATS, leaving primary school and moving on. They absolutely loved it. They truly understood the purpose and audience and I’ve never seen my class so engaged! Love them! 🥰

@Lucy_cat_lady I'm glad your lovely dad had a beautiful service. He was such a dear man and I hope the full church of people who wanted to celebrate his life gave you all some comfort xx

Good morning lovely people. Funeral was beautiful, church was filled to bursting. Was overwhelmingly emotional to see how many lives Dad had touched. Not at work this week as still grieving but so glad we gave him a fabulous send off & look at gorgeous flowers sent from school🥰

Magical moment today ⭐️ Sat in my office, I watched EYFS searching the garden area with their homemade binoculars for a dinosaur that had ‘hatched’🥚🦖 Amongst them all was our equally excited caretaker who carefully rescued the baby pterodactyl which was stuck in a tree 🦸‍♂️🪜

My recent AR meetings have been more like a council of war to plot strategies to access provision. @gfreeman2012 fired me up & I am now keeping a tally of how often I am using "unlawful" in emails to LCC!

Wonder if @RishiSunak @GillianKeegan want to join me for chats with parents about lack of special school places/alternative provision? We now apologise that we can’t help as much as we want & explain it takes years to get in to right schools. Impact might hit home if they see tears first hand.

@Lucy_cat_lady I saw a lady feeding a couple this afternoon. They were sitting next to her on the bench and her little dog had his head on his paws - I'm sure he rolled his eyes!

Walking through the park and this squirrel runs over to me, stands on my feet and climbs up my coat to my shoulder then jumps off. I tried to get a photo of him on my shoulder but he was too quick😂

@Teacherglitter Clinical psychologist told one of my families that if school had involved PAST & fined them for absence the child would have had an EHCP much quicker. Categorically not. It would simply have added to the stress within the family we were trying to support. Ridiculous.

Note to anyone who needs to hear it. Threatening to report me over low attendance (when you have a child under CAHMS & school refuses due to extreme anxiety) isn’t going to suddenly make my child go to school. Or me try harder than I already do. Been there & got the t-shirt.

@MrWithersKS1 My first ever class was Y3 and they are now 37 😱 I have worked alongside 3 people in the school in which I had taught them and one in my current school who began his first day with "I think you taught my wife!"

@dave_mcpartlin It's so frustrating. The local authority (same one as you) increase top up funding to previously unknown levels but that doesn't guarantee we can meet needs. I've been teaching a long time and never been involved in the tribunal process until the last couple of years.

Can’t stop thinking about the children who are being taught in the wrong place because of the lack of sufficient funding/ special school places. The impact on that child, their family, classmates, teachers & school leaders is unforgivable & lasting. We all know the headlines, but when you see & feel it first hand, it’s tragic.

As much as I’m looking forward to seeing #Barbie I was a #Sindy girl. My mum thought she was a ‘good girl’. This was my favourite outfit. The cloak had a gold tassel - fabulous!
