@nikesnixcky there is no public platform for this yet, it’s all run locally. I just generate these on my PC whenever there’s a big severe event coming up. Might try and get something public though because I think people would love it, but I don’t have any formal plans for that right now

@ManagerTactical People seem to forget that to this day, 1994 is still the most attended World Cup in history, despite fewer matches and venues.

The 1994 World Cup was a massive success, the USA 🇺🇸 did deserve another World Cup. The problem is FIFA and their current muppets. It’s always someone from England with an awful take.
Remo@Remo26599

America has never understood, or liked, football. Giving them another World Cup was fucking stupid and they were bound to make a horse's arse of it. The only thing that would make it worth watching is if Trump turns his toes up whilst it's on.

Very good analysis, Erik! By the way, the model sounding you showed, is that from your own code or is it on a website? I like some of the variables you had on there not on a standard Sharppy plot. Interesting that entrainment CAPE was larger than non-ECAPE for the mixed parcel?

NWS Buffalo has confirmed an EF1 tornado from this storm that occurred just to the WSW (~9km) of the @nysmesonet Delevan site. While the north facing cam only captured the forward flank downdraft, the site recorded observations squarely in the inflow region of the storm (1/3)

@NLRG_it It's been a while since undergrad, but iirc the wavefunction does tend to spread out in time until an observation is made, at which point it would collapse back into a Dirac delta function. Not exactly diffusing into nothingness, but a similar process.

if you ignore the potential term schrodinger's equation looks like a diffusion equation. so why doesnt an electron in a vacuum just diffuse into nothingness? why doesn't it look like a wave equation?

@Bullwine85 @mcgrubs_fc @TheBolivianYank I never said it didn’t criticize Arena, I said the details within the article noticeably decreases when it gets to his time. The number of sources dips. And yes, Klinsmann’s Bayern stint was bad, but I was focusing on his reputation post-USMNT.

@zecellomaster @mcgrubs_fc @TheBolivianYank The article also rips apart Arena and rightfully so. The people it rips apart the most are the USSF and *especially* Sunil Gulati. And it wasn't just his stints with Hertha and Korea that hurt his reputation. Lahm and Kroos ripped him to shreds regarding his Bayern tenure.

It’s funny to see our media eat out of Poch’s hand, but when Jurgen Klinsmann was here 12+ years ago and chose to tell the TRUTH about our football, they turned on him and chose to instead try and bury him and his career.
Madison Crews@MadisonCrews7

Intensity is not something this team can turn on and off. Mauricio Pochettino, Tim Ream, and Chris Richards are all aligned. It has to be there from start to finish. My latest on @SoccerDownHere on why that standard is so important for this #USMNT ⬇️

@StatisticUrban The fact that they are polling very well intrinsically denies this. Also, Labour leadership are evil. I don't mean this as a value judgement. They are genuinely scum of the earth evil. The gap between them and AOC or Mamdani is a chasm.

What a lot of Americans cheering on the Greens don’t understand is that the leadership of the UK Greens is stupid. I don’t mean this as a value judgement. They are genuinely unintelligent. The gap between them and AOC or Mamdani is a chasm.

@nikicaga I don’t get this complaint. One of the benefits of hosting an incredibly expensive tournament is that you get a better position for grouping. Sometimes this means a weak host gets an easier group. Oh well.

48 team cup was meant to account for the further globalization of football and award extra spots to populous continents to reduce European bias Europe only got 3 new spots. Italy *still* flamed out to nations like Norway and Bosnia it should be beating!
Gareth Wheeler@GarethWheeler

Thoughts on Italy failing to qualify: 1) 48 team World Cup was supposed to prevent this. Already too many minnows at this tournament. Even a mediocre Italy would have made it better 2) Toronto is a loser here. Italian community storyline, gone. Significant economic impact. 1/2

@IndyyProg @nikicaga Giving more opportunities to these smaller but passionate nations will definitely help them get better at the game. Y’all have gotta stop thinking “if you suck right now you’ll suck forever and you shouldn’t get the chance to prove us wrong” because it’s dumb as hell.

@nikicaga The Americas are waaay overepresented. 3 of the only good countries qualified automatically which meant spots going to Curacao, Haiti and Panama, all 3 have no business being in a World Cup sorry

@mcgrubs_fc @TheBolivianYank It’s not a coincidence that this very detailed article becomes much more low-res when it talks about Bob Bradley or Arena’s tenures; a lot of people within many parts of US Soccer had an axe to grind with Klinsmann and were down with leaking info. theringer.com/2018/06/05/soc…

@mcgrubs_fc @TheBolivianYank US Soccer media was quite resentful of Klinsmann because he frequently antagonized USSF and MLS. For example, there were numerous articles in the run up to the Snow Classico game about how much dysfunction and grumbling there was within the camp.

@mcgrubs_fc @TheBolivianYank In retrospect, the signs that he was an incompetent, egotistical control freak were always there, but to his credit, he was able to get solid results in his first 3 years. But as with his previous head coaching spells, much of that success was in spite of him.

@ManagerTactical Remember when Bobby Wood was helping us beat Germany? Remember when Mix Dickerud was beating the Netherlands? Taking down Brazil in the confederation cup? We used to have signature wins even if they were in friendly matches.

The USMNT 🇺🇸 and Pochettino set the bar as low as they can for the World Cup, at this point not getting grouped will be a relief. Winning 1 knockout game will be considered a major success. What a disappointment, this generation is an embarrassment, we had high hopes… but that ship has sailed. Oh well, next stop the World Cup.

@andrew_eaddy @EinSchwarzwelt Doesn't matter how quick or tall you are when you can't dribble and become easily dispossessed. Also, lacking those attributes hasn't prevented Pepi from being a prolific scorer in an objectively better league.

Is there a problem with Pepi I'm not aware of? Because damn, the icing he's received from Poch is actually surprising even me. Not that I think he is better option than Patrick this game.

@tfabulous1313 @fransancheez @11Yanks Maybe MLS teams *should* put more weight into these tournaments given that it doesn’t help their argument of being a top league every time they get dog walked in international competitions.

@fransancheez @11Yanks Seattle has been in MLS less than 10 yrs. They also put in the work playing/training in Mexico. Building a squad specifically to play Concacaf. Maybe other clubs don’t put a lot of weight into these tournaments.

Tale as old as time. MLS stans love to pump their chest about all the growth & progress the league has made but every year they go south of the border, get their assess handed to them & come home complainig about "schedule." Quality & stakes are still missing from a league mainly good for development & retirement.
Taylor Twellman@TaylorTwellman

.@MLS teams in Mexico just don’t know how to deal with that environment. There is a vibe, there is a pressure that the bubble will burst at any moment. San Diego last night and Cincinnati tonight both losing by 4 goal margins. The story with often the same ending.

@TemarcWinter @MLShater If you *know* that a player is typically performing at a superior level for club but something doesn’t click for the NT, you don’t just throw your hands up and say “ah, he’s cursed 🤷‍♂️ ” and choose worse players. You FITFO because you are trying to maximize the NT’s potential.

@TemarcWinter @MLShater It absolutely isn’t. Cardoso has not been given the same of chances the others have, ones that came against weak opponents, btw. The justification of “because he didn’t play well” is the weak argument. If given more opportunities, we’d probably see better performances.

There’s people on this app who will look you dead in your eyes and say that they’d rather bring Sebastian Berhalter or Christian Roldan to the World Cup over Johnny Cardoso, a Champions League starter. 😂
