When I got my first real job in 2018, I was posted to Benin, my boyfriend (now husband) was also in Benin. The job was very stressful at first, I will leave the house by 6am and return by 7pm. I didn’t have a washing machine, I was living on fast food and any nearby restaurant. My boyfriend runs shift at his place of work hence he comes to my house every two days (he has my key) while I am at work, takes my dirty close to his house to wash and return. He will do market runs and call me to know what he should prepare for me to cook (he cannot cook to save his life), cleans my house and come back to my office so he can walk me home as he didn’t have a car then and don’t want me going home alone (my house was trek-able). He did this for almost a whole year till I was settled. I know I was going to marry him
