It was determined Hazell was high on drugs during his 2025 hit-and-run crash outside St Edmund’s College, where he struck two schoolboys with his vehicle. Hazell has pleaded guilty to culpable driving causing grievous bodily harm. Prosecutors conceded the post-arrest force breached professional standards; an AFP investigation confirmed the officers’ conduct was unlawful.
