The existence of bad AI films does not make all AI films bad. Thank you.

"AI will never match human acting." I believed that too. Until Seedance 2 changed my mind with two outputs. I've tracked this tech closely since 2023. I've seen a lot. But when I got these first 2 outputs (not cherry-picked, literally the first two) I was truly impressed, and I could not believe my eyes. All I gave it: 2 images + detailed text prompt in Brazilian Portuguese about the scene mood and dialog lines. No audio input. No video performance input. Pure Image-to-Video + text prompt. As this reaches native 4K, I believe real shooting will be reserved only for very specific use cases. That's not pessimism, that's just watching the curve. The crazy part is that AI might actually make us crave even more for human experiences. We're already seeing it. Theater plays booming, live concerts selling out, analog rooms becoming coping mechanisms and spreading around the world. As media gets more and more saturated with AI-generated images/video/music (inevitable), real becomes rare. Rare becomes valuable. Ironically, AI may forces us to ask and reflect on what actually makes us human. My real fear isn't AI actors. It's the same pattern we saw in the Industrial Revolution. Technology that could free us, used by "the System" to monitor, control, and extract even more productivity from us, for the same salary or lower. The fact is that AI is a dubious revolution. It empowers us, but it will also be weaponized against us in many ways. Do you think AI will make live human experiences more valuable in the next 10 years? What's your take? We put together this short video reel with a few highlights from Busan Int. AI Film Festival 2025 in South Korea and it’s honestly hard to fit everything into one post. It was a great chance to meet AI filmmakers from around the world and many local Korean artists too. The festival truly promoted diversity and inclusion, creating space for different voices, aesthetics, and stories. This was easily one of the most professional festivals we’ve attended, with top-level production, and care for guests. And the hospitality of Korean citizens is in a category of its own. Big thanks to Busan Film Center for being clearly pro-AI and for creating meaningful incentives for filmmakers. We watched strong films, had thoughtful discussions, and made connections that will last beyond the trip. Our founder @oFaleco also presented the keynote “The (Re)evolution of AI Films”, joined the panel, and also had a film screened at the iconic Busan Film Center. 🚨 Filmmakers: keep this festival on your radar and plan to submit your work in 2027!
