Today, ICOMOS is proud to announce that "Landscapes of pastoralist transhumance | A thematic approach" is now available on PUBLICOMOS! The publication is the result of an extensive collaborative process, involving an interdisciplinary pool of international experts. ICOMOS participated today in its first side event at the #47WHC : Scaling Up #CapacityBuilding for World Heritage. ℹ️The side event featured the Advisory Bodies’ roles in capacity building, the importance of capacity building in the WH Convention and experiences of States Parties in funding and supporting capacity building. 💡ICOMOS President Teresa Patrício highlighted the organization’s various capacity building initiatives for World Heritage (and beyond) and welcomed the revision of the Capacity Building Strategy proposed by the WH Committee. The draft WH Capacity-Building Strategy 2025-2035 aims to have WH actors deliver effective, sustainable and inclusive capacity building to improve the management of WH properties, provide greater benefits to communities and strenghten the credibiliy of the WH Convention.

🎉 On 22 June 2025, celebrate the 60th anniversary of ICOMOS! To celebrate this day, ICOMOS President Teresa Patrício reflects upon 60 years of leadership for the conservation of cultural heritage. Since its founding in 1965, ICOMOS has adapted its approach and methods to better serve its mission of protecting and promoting cultural heritage. ❗️ICOMOS ICORP President Launches Emergency Heritage Response Training in Myanmar Following Devastating #MyanmarEarthquake ℹ️ In the wake of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Central Myanmar, claiming over 4,000 lives and severely damaging hundreds of cultural heritage sites, the President of ICOMOS ICORP Zeynep Gül Ünal, in close coordination with @GEA__SAR , ICOMOS Myanmar, and The Turquoise Mountain Organization launched an urgent training programme for heritage professionals on 6 April 2025. 1/2

🆕 ICOMOS International Charter and Guidance on Sites with Intangible Cultural Heritage ✒️Approved at the ICOMOS General Assembly held in Ouro Preto, Brazil, in November 2024, the Charter advocates for the recognition of #intangibleculturalheritage as an integral part of site based heritage. .@UNESCO condemns missile attack on the historic centre of Odesa last night, a World Heritage site, severely damaging at least two cultural buildings placed under UNESCO Conventions’ protection. These repeated attacks must stop. International law must be respected.
