The best type of person to get into IT is the bartender. They are acutely aware of what it is like to listen to nonstop complaints and bad news while keeping a smile on their face and giving advice to drunk sad ppl. Make sure you tip them well. They have seen some shit.

@RayRedacted In WWII, the USAAF discovered completely by accident that colorblind bombardiers could see right through camouflage. Different perspectives grant a better view. Having all middle-aged white doods isn't it.

Who were the people first bringing security into DevOps processes? What were those early days like? Was it something that had its roots in DevOps or did it come later? Thinking about security at scale and what it means today.

@EanMeyer @strandjs As a former college debater and High School coach the logic & critical thinking are foundational to who I am. The current gamification (such as “spreading”) is unfortunate but even then the games are based in an intellectual challenging of the event itself which is apropos.

@strandjs Current debate programs just teach spreading to win, sadly, which is how you get Ben Shapiro thinking he’s a super genius. Classical debate and logic classes though would be wonderful. americamagazine.org/arts-culture/2…
