Message from a motorist: @CityTshwane @TMPDSafety @CilliersB I was travelling along the R55 yesterday. Stopped by metro police who were in groups again at every traffic light that was out of order. (Amazing how all the street lights got stolen on this very road that the metro police virtually live on.) Anyway I asked why he didn't have his name tag on - not one of them did. He offered to show me his service card. An absolute joke of a card that was printed in black and white on cheap paper with a printer thats short of ink - and then laminated. I swear my home printer and laminator could produce a better fake card than that. I asked him if he had made the card at his local ‘internet shop’. He realised that I recognized the fake card that they seem to now keep on them since the message was circulated to citizens to ask for police to produce these cards. I am sorry to say but the metro police are rotten to the core and absolutely beyond repair. We as citizens have absolutely no respect for these thugs whose daily ambition is not upholding the law and protecting the public but rather lining their pockets. How bad must the leadership be for such behaviour to continue?  Bet they’re the most corrupt of all. Perhaps when one of their family or friends are victims of crime will they reflect on how the police are failing to protect the public! I did not video the incident because I know how aggressive these guys can become and frankly my safety is more of a priority. We as citizens cannot be asked to police the police! Heads need to role, some1 needs to get their act together and get the bull by the horns, call a spade a spade, admit that you have no control, admit that the majority of metro police are only in it for the bribes, they are extremely poorly trained, they will pull you off at unsafe locations, drag you from the fast lane and the list goes on!   Absolutely disgusting mentality!
