Great to see some mainstream media coverage of Tesla Semi: "With a diesel Semi, to go about 500 miles here in California with diesel being $7.66 on avg, you're looking at about $520 to go that distance. But with the @Tesla Semi, one single charge will get you there for $275." DHL thinks the higher upfront cost of the Tesla Semi will be more than worth it over the lifetime of the vehicle with big fuel and maintenance savings.

This is why I was excited to start seeing FSD videos come from Europe, because these types of scenarios pretty much don't exist in the US/Canada. Many parts of Europe have very old and small roads, and very walkable cities, creating challenging driving scenarios with lots of people, bikes, walking into the street, etc, especially in Amsterdam. Based on what we've seen in the last week, FSD is nailing all of it. Its situational awareness is great, despite the all chaos and variables in this type of environment.

BMW X5 owner says he's selling his car to buy a 2026 @Tesla Model Y after driving an EV and FSD for the first time: "Couple of months ago my friend got a Tesla Model Y 2026 and recently went overseas for 3 weeks, so he let me use it. I had never driven an electric car before and always thought about range anxiety. But man, this was an eye opening experience. After about a week, I stopped worrying about range completely. I’d just come home, plug it in, and every morning it was fully charged. After driving with FSD and one pedal driving, I can’t go back to my car anymore. My friend came back from his trip and took the car last Friday, and now I can’t stand driving my gas car. Everything feels obsolete and stupid, like I’m driving a 30 year old car with no tech. I actually get mad at it now, and it’s only been 3 days. I’ve never felt like this about my car before. After 3 weeks, I went from “I love my car” to “this is old shit.” Looks like I can’t tolerate any other cars anymore. I’m going to sell my X5 and get a Black Model Y Long Range."

The fact the Tesla is launching Unsupervised Robotaxi right off the bat in Houston and Dallas makes me more bullish for the speed of the Cybercab rollout. I was expecting the Robotaxi rides in new cities to initially only be offered with safety monitors. Exciting times!

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO BEGIN REFUNDING $166B IN TARIFFS The U.S. government will start refunding up to $166 billion in Trump-era tariffs after the Supreme Court ruled the policy unlawful. From April 20, businesses can file claims through a new Customs system to recover duties paid under emergency powers. Courts found only Congress can impose tariffs, forcing the rollback. Over 330,000 importers across 53 million shipments may be eligible. Once approved, refunds—plus interest—should arrive within 60–90 days, though complex cases may take longer. Officials warn the process will be massive and complex, but payments will go directly to the businesses that originally paid.
