On Sunday 9th. 11 .2025 We empowered girls & community leaders in Shaba slum Mbale to make reusable sanitary pads, tackling period stigma & challenges. Girls face unaffordable pads, missed school, & shame. With this skill, they gain dignity, confidence & a healthier future.

Raising Teenagers Uganda🇺🇬
Raising Teenagers Uganda🇺🇬@RaisingTeensUg2·
Last week was eventful and one of the major activities we proudly participated in was the 3day training organized by @CEDOVIPuganda under the @GirlsFirstFund and @GirlsNotBrides partnership. The training brought together advocates, activists and community change agents from different organizations but all united by a shared goal: to #EndChildMarriage and gender based violence in Uganda. It was a space for learning, reflecting and strengthening our voices as advocates for girls’ rights and protection. You can catch all the details of what transpired at the training on our website via raisingteenagers.org/strengthening-…

Yesterday, our Regional Director @LillianBagala joined a panel of funders to discuss “Unlocking Financing for Girls’ Programs.” Funders emphasised prioritising projects with tangible results, measurable impact, and sustainable outcomes for women and girls. A key takeaway, when we design projects with impact, transformation & inclusivity in mind, funding follows! @IriseInt #KeepYourFireLit #MenstrualJusticeForAll

We are thrilled to share that we will be at the International Conference on Family Planning happening from 3rd to 6th November 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia. 🇨🇴 Held under the theme “Equity Through Action: Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for All,” this year’s conference brings together global voices and changemakers committed to advancing SRHR and family planning for everyone, everywhere. As SRHR Alliance Uganda, our participation reaffirms our commitment to championing youth-led advocacy, gender equality, and access to comprehensive sexuality education and quality SRHR services across Uganda. Through our work, we continue to empower young people to claim their rights, influence policy, and drive meaningful change in their communities. At #ICFP2025, we look forward to sharing our experiences, learning from global best practices, and strengthening collaborations that push forward the SRHR agenda ensuring that equity is not just a goal, but a lived reality. #ICFP2025

IEHS Project, a hope that Transforms Lives with every Medical Camp. Keeping on course! Since the inception of our partnership with the volunteer @GermanDoctors, our community medical camps have provided quality healthcare services to over 9,973 patients. Through the Inclusive Equitable Health Service (IEHS) Project, we have offered essential medical services, including HIV, syphilis, and malaria testing and treatment, alongside care for a wide range of other medical conditions. Yesterday at Kabuna Church of Uganda, our volunteer German Doctors, Dr. Corrine Wyder and Dr. Alexa Krumme saved lives. The mobile clinic quickly became a beacon of hope as hundreds of patients flocked to receive medical attention for various ailments. Among the most commonly addressed conditions were acute malaria, skin diseases such as Tinea capitis, scabies, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and H. pylori infections, among others. Despite the overwhelming turnout, our team worked tirelessly to attend to as many patients as possible impacting over 259 lives. Beyond physical illness, the medical team observed that mental health challenges continue to significantly affect community wellbeing. This reinforces the need for holistic healthcare approaches, where emotional and psychological support complement medical treatment. Each camp reaffirms our shared commitment to saving lives, alleviating suffering, and bringing essential healthcare closer to those who need it most. Together, we continue to make a lasting difference, one community at a time.

Many people avoid using contraceptives because they fear harmful side effects but this is largely a myth. Like any medication, contraceptives may have mild and temporary side effects for some users but they are scientifically proven to be safe and highly effective when used correctly. #SRHRFactsMatter | #BreakTheMyths

I thought I knew what period poverty looked like until Karamoja. Most girls there had never seen a pad, never heard of one, and struggled even to name what was happening to their own bodies. Their first barrier isn’t the lack of products it’s the lack of words.

This year’s theme “Sexual Justice: What Can We Do?” reminds us that sexual health is a human right which means dignity, equity, autonomy and inclusion for ALL. Sexual justice envisions a world where everyone regardless of identity, age, ability, or background has the power and resources to make free and healthy decisions about their bodies, sexuality and reproduction. It means equal access to sexual health services, including SRHR information and barrier free experiences of rights. Let us commit to building a world where everyone can make informed, safe, and free choices about their bodies and lives. #WorldSexualHealthDay25 #OwnYourHealth
