🚨 DOG ABUSER OLDHAM OL1 🚨 SHAUNA ROSE,31 KNOW THE FACE CONVICTED | Shauna Rouse, 31, from Oldham OL1 - starved two tiny dogs to emaciation then lied she had found them as strays. CCTV captured Rouse arriving at the Dogs Trust Centre in Denton by car and carrying the dogs, one of whom was microchipped and called Bailey, into reception. She told staff she had discovered them abandoned in a bush while on the school run in the Moorside area of Oldham earlier that morning. However, an RSPCA appeal led to her being identified as the dogs' owner. Very sadly, one dog, Bailey, had to be immediately put to sleep due to his poor condition. In his written evidence to the court, the vet from Dogs Trust who examined them, said: “Bailey was recumbent and unresponsive on presentation. "His heart rate was 40 beats per minute and his respiratory rate was two breaths per minute. "His pupils were fixed with no discernible pupillary light reflex. "His limbs were stiff and curled into the fetal position; no obvious fractures or trauma were identified.” “I assessed him as having a body condition score of one out of nine, with very prominent skeletal features. "He was emaciated with little to no muscling or body fat and weighed 2.75 kg.” Bailey was severely matted and stained with faeces around his back end. His organs were shutting down and he was euthanised to prevent further suffering. The other dog, nicknamed Tiny Tim, also had very little muscle mass, prominent skeletal features and was given the lowest body condition score. His coat was matted, especially around his face, and he weighed 2.8kg. The RSPCA treated Tiny Tim, and he was eventually given a good long-term prognosis. After admitting the dogs were hers, Rouse said she didn't know when the dogs' weight loss had started or when the fur had matted. She also said she had tried to rehome them. Sentencing | 12-month community order with a 10-week curfew; costs of £200 and £114 victim surcharge. Disqualified from keeping animals for 10 years. Source UKACF.

In more cases than not Galgueros leave their dogs injured simply because they don’t want to spend a penny on them. They often leave them with broken bones for so long that it costs us more time and money to help them afterwards. The operations now more complicated and the rehab much more difficult. Winter 😍 was left with a horrendous injury… she had been left for months and months in pain with her leg broken. It healed so badly she’s needed several ops to put the leg right and to save it. Believe it or not 5mths later we are still working on her rehab. The galgos of Spain are so lucky to have protectoras fighting for them. Without them and without your support these dogs would be left in dire situations over and over again. It doesn’t bear thinking about. Winter is hopefully on the mend and that’s all down to you guys ❤️ With the protectors they have a chance of being fixed up and the chance of a new home 🏠😍

Remember Mr Pickles? 😍 Mr Pickles is deaf but that’s not all 😞 We were told Mr Pickles had been locked away in the middle of no where. His hunter allegedly rarely bothered. Isolated and alone day after day his behavior shows extreme signs of repetition and stress disorders. The worst part is tho he has a crack in his skull. This crack is important as it might well be contributing to some of his behavioral issues as he has a lesion on the brain. As we don’t know his history we don’t know if he was born with the lesion or if that’s caused it. How did he get a big crack in his skull? We can only imagine. Mr Pickles has definitely improved at GDS. Instead of spinning in circles he’s now able to sit and observe, he’s resting more and he’s doing better on the lead. Whilst he would be considered a deaf dog his left ear has very slight hearing. Slight. Mr Pickles needs a special home and we know there is one out there for him ❤️

Zelda was found on the streets. No microchip but with a broken leg. She’s quite shy and wasn’t easy to catch. We got her leg operated on and she’s doing really well but still remains quite shy when on her own. She bonds quickly with other dogs and we think she’ll be fine in a home with others. At the moment she’s very bonded with Debbie who also has a plate in her clavicle that was broken. What a lovely pair they make 💕We know it’s unlikely Debbie and Zelda will get a home together but if Zelda could find a home with other dogs that would be great. Isn’t she beautiful? Zelda is just two years old ❤️💕 Plz share 🙏🏻❤️
