@lucperkins I like this idea. I have a use case for it. I’d probably argue to drop gRPC (for now or forever), and build the JS/TS analog for client-side replication. tl;dr I’m down to help, and I’d imagine some of the others in open source force would be too.

I’m tempted to rewrite this in Rust and make it more of a real thing github.com/purpledb/purple

@lucperkins These two do different things, and the first one is generally more useful, and the second is kind of weird in actual usage. There’s a place for both though since they are different.

@lucperkins Think of ESNext as beta. It hasn’t been officially released so it might have broken stuff or you might code features that don’t exist in a runtime. In general for anything you don’t want to break, using the latest version that’s not ESNext is what you want.

Do any of you know of a good rundown of all the different JavaScript "editions," as in ESNext, ES2020, etc. I understand the concept of an edition but I don't really know pros and cons of choosing. More specifically: what should I use for a GitHub Action written in TypeScript?

There was a “venue” in Chicago called the Mission Loft, which was the kitchen of an apartment that some members of the band Ambition Mission lived at. Alkaline Trio played there one time on probably the hottest day of 2003 or something.
