@furiosadoshow I think it won't be a spoiler to say this shit never gets explained. As well as many other things. Really, even disk 1 gives you a good idea of FFVIII being a game that would be intentionally ambiguous to the point of barely making any sense (in the ending, especially).

i saw the fingernail ripping scene as a kid on youtube bc it was really popular but now reading in the vn HOLY SHIT not only is it emotionally painful but i hate the deen anime even more for butchering the scene and completely missing the emotional context
