What the hell

I read a post about a junior engineer who kept shipping broken builds. His team noticed. So did he. He stopped waiting for better tools. Started treating every constraint as a design problem. Documented everything. Asked sharper questions. Slowed down to go faster. Then something shifted. Reviews got cleaner. Teammates started pulling him into harder problems. More ownership. More trust. Same environment. Different approach. Did the work get easier? Or did he get better by refusing to treat difficulty as an excuse? Short version: the builders who improve their outcomes usually started by improving themselves first. Not just him. All of us.

The delusion of building in public: To feel like visibility is progress instead of the work is a massive difference.

One of the biggest traps in building is assuming your own blind spots don't exist, then tearing apart someone else's execution. Hold your work to the same standard you hold others. The market is the fairest critic of all.

People tend to glorify "the pitch." F*ck that. Let's glorify: > Corners over stages > Building what seems impossible > Quiet work that compounds > Learning from founders, not textbooks > Specificity over hype > Things that ship How you build > How you present.

As a founder, ask yourself this question every single day. "What did I build today, that makes me sharper than I was yesterday?"
