@TheeJoelLopez Reminds me of my daughter. Practiced being a flower girl for months. Froze up during the wedding and I had to carry her down the aisle while she cried on my shoulder. But I’m sure it’ll go better for you!

Once I was done playing football I moved away from home. Was at the park with my wife and some friends and I started jostling the biggest guy there to wrestle. I felt bad after because he wasn’t an athlete. My wife “you were like a puppy who wanted to play.” Fast forward to this summer @tyromper retreat. I found out @zmueller223 used to wrestle. Me: you want to wrestle? Him: He’ll Yeah He beat me. That’s not the point for me. Just to let that dog out for a little walk and feel alive. I do BJJ once a week but still one of my highlights of the year.

Tried golf before kids, didn’t care for it much. Coached high school football and loved it. When the kid #3 came I stopped. Now with six kids and less time, I roll BJJ once a week. It’s fun for me and fits for this season of life

A lot of people are just too COMFORTABLE today. Life’s gotten easy so they SETTLE in mediocrity. It doesn’t happen all at once. But little by little you’ve given in to EASY. •Stopped pushing physically & gained weight so you become low energy & sluggish. •Stopped reading & learning because you zone out to Netflix or mindless entertainment. •Stopped growing your faith because you’re too busy & never still or quiet & in the word. •Stopped pursuing your wife & dating her because you already got her & now your roommates not passionate lovers. I was there at 34. Aimless & thinking there must be more to MY ONE LIFE than this. The best news, With ONE COMMITTED DECISION today, you can rewrite any best future you want!! I am almost 42 I feel like I’m just getting started!!

It’s a challenge to get one on one time with my kids. Got a chance this weekend with my oldest son. The rest of the crew went to visit their grandparents and he stayed behind because he wanted to go camping (I had work so he had to wait until the end of the week) We got rain this week and I felt bad because he stayed behind and almost didn’t get to do what we both wanted. I told him it might not happen because of the weather and he understood. It cleared mostly and we went. All he wanted to do was fish, hike, make a fire, and be with me. I was able to talk with him about my goals for him and his siblings. And some of my regrets as a father. Conversations that are challenging to have because of the constant demands in our house. He’s so funny and thoughtful. He’s a good kid.
