When there is pain, the animal instinct is flight-or-fight. Calm yourself down and reflect instead. The pain you are feeling is due to things being in conflict--maybe you've come up against a terrible reality, such as the death of a friend, and are unable to accept it; maybe you've been forced to acknowledge a weakness that challenges the idea you'd had of yourself. Do you think all the patients in the hospital were actors or real patients? If you accept they were real patients, can you acknowledge that the Israeli forces have effectively eliminated the major provider of medical care for civilians in north Gaza? While you may consider targeting the supply chain of an army legitimate, these actions imply Israel’s war is against the civilians of Gaza. And you brushed aside someone’s comment about the absence of the command center, when that was the EXACT justification for this tragedy. Are you now willfully participating in misinformation rather than being part of the discourse towards establishing peace?

I understand why an Israeli civilian would feel unable to live alongside Hamas. Similarly, I understand why a Palestinian would feel similarly about Israeli politicians who support apartheid, settler violence, and collective punishment. When we condemn Hamas, we must, in the same breath, condemn the Israeli leaders who created the environment that bred Hamas.

I repeatedly asked @jeremycorbyn if he thought Hamas was a terrorist group and whether they should stay in power in Gaza. He repeatedly refused to answer either question. Staggering.
