Lately I've been getting into Battletech not because it's about big stompy robots, space, politics or military, but because it's mind bendingly complicated and has more options to play it that you could ever go through in a lifetime, unless your life was Battletech.

A few years ago I realized that social media had a place of importance in my life that it had never earned. Sometimes to change some things I need to step away, and come back when I'm feeling ready to engage in a more level ground.

@draginol I sincerely think Grok is only a facade so that X can define itself as an AI-forward company and gain leverage with investors. Appealing to the innovation fantasy is kind of Elon's whole value proposition formula but in the end it's all a sales pitch.

I really want to use Grok but what, exactly is the use case for it? There’s no Agent system ala what OpenAI has. There’s no Claude code type thing. If I spend $300 a month on it what is the value proposition? Not being rhetorical, can someone explain?

@SPACE_Romantic It totally makes sense, people for many reasons are sensitive to their surroundings. Sometimes they assume it's expected of them to make a difference, sometimes they just don't like it. But that is quite honestly not our business, all we can do is communicate clearly.

@zntznt Also, everyone gets frustrated because they see me feeling like crap and don't know what to do with me or how to treat me, but I just want to be treated like a "normal person", if that makes sense.

Depression is a weird thing. It's not logical, it creeps into you and saps the colors out of everything. It twists your perception of the world, and you stop wanting to the people you love, and you stop finding joy in the things that genuinely interest you.

@SPACE_Romantic I have seen it happen and it's incredibly frustrating and defeating when the meds that used to work just aren't effective anymore. Or when they work, but just make a dent on the situation or come at a heavy cost to some part of you. The search can be long and discouraging.

@zntznt I would like to add that medication is a sensitive issue for me. The fact that there is a combination of meds that works and then it doesn't, sucks. Especially what it does to me and those around me. One day I'm fine and then I feel like someone sucked all the joy out of me.

And in silence, somehow some appendage in your body that you haven't listened to in years tells you something that just makes sense. You seek help. You recognize what's in front of you. You tackle the current moment. You'll find a way, the sun rises just as it did all your life.

Giving up is not an action you take in the real world. It is the last action you take on a mindset that informs your way of acting. When you clean the slate, only the present moment remains. You realize that without a concept of self, blood keeps flowing in your veins.
