@CoachAude@ralulla@HuskersX@WilsonDSports Yeah I agree with that. Coach Eck did a great job considering where the unit was at before. Wish we could’ve kept him even though his track record is jumping around.
@zthavy@ralulla@HuskersX@WilsonDSports I wouldn’t say below average, but I can get on board with they slipped.
My main issue with the original with the clip was the statement saying we didn’t see special teams win games last season. That’s all
@WilsonDSports@CoachAude@HuskersX The sentiment that Mike Ekeler is the only functional special teams coach in the country is part of my issue here. They were hiring someone new and I’d argue almost anyone with a pulse would’ve cleaned up most of the stuff we saw. After that we are basically arguing over 3 plays
@ralulla@HuskersX@WilsonDSports@CoachAude Both things are true. Yes special teams helped us win a couple games early in the year. For whatever reason by end of season they slipped back to below average.
@HuskersX@WilsonDSports@CoachAude I’m not saying there’s a large group that could jump 100 spots. I’m saying getting into the top 40-50 was achievable by almost any functional coach and after that we are arguing about a handful of big plays vs more consistent execution in other areas of special teams
