@film42 Biggest problem with GCP. Great tech, but can be hostile towards customers with their changes (thinking price, and breaking api changes)

GCP is a great cloud provider. It just pains me as a biz owner to get so many emails each week about price increases and retro-adjustments. You're plenty profitable, Google, I need a job too!

In this week's Google Cloud billing change: Inter-region data transfer billing fix (increase) has been pushed out to Oct from Aug with a sign-off that basically says, "if you want to know what this is going to cost you, you need to figure this out on your own." Nice.

Unpopular opinion: you should copy/fork/DIY your dependencies for everything but the most complicated or sensitive functionality (GUI, crypto, networking, etc.). Blindly depending on trivial functionality or having a deep dependency tree causes more problems than it solves.

Homage to The Golden Spike National Historical Park in Utah, which commemorates the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad with a ceremonial Golden Spike on May 10, 1869. Probably works better for baseball than NHL. 2. Utah Cutts. Utah's state fish is the Bonneville Cutthroat Trout, one of the prettiest fish on earth. 3. Utah Black Diamonds. Ode to the greatest snow on earth. Which one do you like the best?

@teddyferrin I started some to play some golf at the end of last year. Upgraded my clubs from the Walmart ones I got in high school 15+ years ago. Watched a bunch of videos (Danny Maude FTW) and practiced at home. Went and played 9 for the first time and shot the exact same. 52. Still had fun

Golfed over the weekend with a scratch golfer. I picked up the game 4-5 years ago and am enjoying the pursuit of trying to get really good. I asked him for some tips and he replied, “Go back in time and start playing as a kid.” Any spots open on your bowling team?
