xbox gone and done it. from 5K, games will now cost 5.5K for the base version. They're trying to funnel people into game pass? But gamepass is 1K+? What they really are doing is pushing people OUT of xbox lol. I'm happy to buy the 2 good games you make in 5 years on sale lol.

The layoffs are expected in the third week of January, and workers say teams in Azure, Xbox, and global sales could be hit. Microsoft has not confirmed the plan, but it would follow a tough 2025, when the company reportedly cut 15,000+ jobs across multiple rounds despite strong revenue and profits. A key reason mentioned is Microsoft’s huge AI spending push. The company is investing heavily in data centers, chips, and AI tools, with capital spending described as soaring and expected to rise further across fiscal 2026.
