Harvard believes the next Einstein is already among us. Meet Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski, a quiet theoretical physicist and one of the brightest minds of her generation. At 14, she built a real airplane. At 16, she flew it alone. When MIT rejected her, she sent them a video of the plane she built instead. Their reply: "Start next semester." She later graduated with a perfect GPA, was cited by Stephen Hawking, and turned down offers from Google, Facebook, and Jeff Bezos. Instead of chasing money and fame, she chose to focus on understanding the universe.

I hope the UNIVERSE has some pension for her. When you refuse to put your knowledge to the benefit of humanity, then that knowledge becomes useless knowledge. Just imagine if Elon Musk had decided to keep everything he knows to himself because HE WANTS TO UNDERSTAND the UNIVERSE FIRST, give it another year or two and another person would emerge much more intelligent and happy to use that intelligence to improve humanity. 🥱🥱

@Math_files Flying a small airplane is easy. A child can (and has) done it. Building a small plane is pretty simple. There are kits, books, videos, CLUBS! I mean it's not bad, but not what I would say is impressive. Unless she built a jet by herself and flew it. THAT would be impressive. 🤷‍♂️

@Math_files Why does this nonsense keep circulating? An Einstein equivalent is someone who changes the field. Has she? No. Could she? Maybe. But crowning someone 'the next great' before the great achievements is silly.

@Math_files I built a radio jammer at age 10. The last time I took an IQ test I scored above 170, which means my IQ cannot be measured using the standard tests. I speak/read/sign 17 languages. I turned down studying astrophysics to study painting, sculpture & Asian languages. 😊

@Math_files Building an airplane at 14 is undeniably impressive, but it’s not really evidence of theoretical physics ability. The skills that make a great theorist are deep mathematical insight, abstract reasoning, and groundbreaking research not building engineering project :)
