@fathers_church I know unearthing his relics has been discussed but I'm not aware of any plans to do so in the near future. I am also not aware of any past unearthing occurring. But it may well happen if and when he is glorified as a saint.

We have already done everything. We had over 30 letters written by parishioners to Metropolitan Longin. They were flatly ignored. My spiritual father, who was entirely aware of the situation and was opposed to the ordination, was also ignored and reassigned to a different parish out of state so that he would not interfere.

@Outlaw_Estel It probably is since I have not attempted to learn every creation theory and then examine it in light of the Fathers. If Fr. Damascene holds that this is recommended reading than he will be know the answers to your questions. I'd love to know what he says if you get a resposne.

@AudioScribeOW Well, now this seems to be just your personal looseness on the topic. "IDT is not a threat" That's not the point. It's "recommended reading." So is "creation science." Ouch. The Fathers didn't promote "creation science" or IDism. That's late modern. End of story, Timothy.

@Outlaw_Estel On my part, it's not a matter of avoidance out of fear or something, it's that my understanding of IDT is not a threat to what Fr. Seraphim and the Holy Fathers have said. Fr. Seraphim views are strongly based on the Fathers as one can clearly see in the Genesis book.

@Outlaw_Estel I just looked at your profile. You remind me of another gentlemen I had a friendly Space chat with one day on the Genesis book and related topics. Are you this same person? Forgive me I can't recall your name.

@Outlaw_Estel I have not asked him specifically about this. I have talked with him about evolution generally but not Thaxton's views. You could always write the monastery and you might get a response.

@AudioScribeOW What have you asked him about 'Intelligent Design' theory? Fr. Seraphim Rose had died before 'Intelligent Design' theory was coined by Charles Thaxton. Yet Fr. Damascene included IDT as 'recommended reading' & got the grandfather of the IDM to write the Introduction. Why?

@AudioScribeOW Agreed re: immaturity & reactionary involving orthobroism. Thankful that you're not afraid. Would you then be willing to contact the St. Herman of Alaska Brotherhood Press directly if you discovered they were doing something unethical in/to the writings of Fr. Seraphim Rose?
