@XorDev There's a feedback place? I found some annoyances that have since been fixed, but wasn't sure if there was some place to write or it was all work in progress.

Fabrice has been instrumental in providing critical feedback on FragCoord. He finds bugs as fast as I can fix them!

@wookash_podcast Nostalgia imo. They weren't bad games, but they are not games I would recommend to play today. Other top games from the 90s/00s I would absolutely recommend.

My dear friend has mocked me for liking old Harry Potter games (1 & 2, though 3 is ok as well). Were these games any good, or is it just nostalgia? His stance is "if it wasn't well-known IP you wouldn't like it". He generally stays away from games that licensed IP - HP, LOTR, Warhammer, etc. Cause he wants to play games for **their core game ideas**, not to play "reskins" of popular game mechanics with known characters. But I'm like, bro, Harry Potter 2, with its all secrets, silver cards, quidditch, was crazy good! Had so much mystery, the magic was basic, yet it was exactly what 7/8/15 year old me wanted. Does anyone remember these games, and being older at that time, can wage in, and offer their take - were they plain games with "stolen" / "adapted" mechanics from other works, or were there original games, that happened to license popular IP?

Internet discourse would be a lot better if you could immediately make a monetary bet against anyone making some outlandish claim/prediction, and then we could ignore anyone not putting money where their mouth is.

it's quite funny how an abundance of llm slop now has given us predispositions against texts that use their telltale signs. Random emojis, em dashes, "you're absolutely right", "here's why", no swearing, etc. Turing test against popular models is now just "say a slur"

@XorDev 1. Visualizing it as I write it on a proper mesh with textures, etc 2. IDE doesn't do autocomplete properly / is not fetching additional hlsl libraries to suggest relevant methods in a particular engine 3. Stupid syntax errors not getting caught quickly enough

@TylerGlaiel I'd recommend just using a bug tracker for that. Jira is more of a management tool

@wookash_podcast Most news is like that these days. The internet has made it very easy to find information/reviews, so there's little place/money for that. The most interesting investigative journalism I've seen lately is by youtubers, and they still sometimes push politics on the side.

it's half "articles" rephrasing 2 tweets in 3 paragraphs and half politics why no one talks about the games themselves?

@senukin69 Depends on the quality of animation and the amount of people you're paying at which wage. But a few million dollars is normal for anything that takes a year or two for 2+ dozens of skilled people, who are already not paid great.

"Indie dev" has been so coopted by corporate interests that publisher-backed studios with headcounts north of 100 devs apparently now qualify as "indie" I propose a new name for the REAL indies out there, which will never be taken from us: Incel devs
